It all began with a “tiny thought”

January 1st, I was driving from TX to MO and pondering the word authenticity, my word for

2026.

I was really burnt out from loading in and out again to get on the road.

I thought, wouldn’t it be nice to just start the engine and GO!

My wheels began turning to honestly consider van life!

It was something I had thought of before, but I let my own fears and concerns about what others would think of this “crazy idea” keep me from being authentic about my desires.

No one was injured. I promise!

Thoughts about authenticity and frustrations with my current way of travel grew into words.

And that’s how I ended up sitting behind the wheel of a very large RV parked inside a Camping World store! I have no interest in a large RV, but I literally wanted to just get inside some rigs!

Then I took some action!

I rented this Winnebago Solis for a couple of nights to “test the waters.”

I wish I could tell you it was a marvelous, blissful escape, but that would be a big fat hairy lie!

BAM! That was the sound of the Murphy bed falling down in the back while I was driving down the road!

RATS… that wasn’t exactly what I said when I realized this vehicle has no battery or solar power. I actually need electricity. No, I didn’t know that most RV parks in the area were closed in the winter! So my “getaway” in my mother’s driveway was a bust… but I certainly learned a great deal.
