Where is home for you?

My Turtle Shell

In November, I hit a detour in my travel plans, ran into a reconstruction zone in a personal

relationship, and I had a flat tire of confidence! WHEW! Thank you for sending a text, an email, or a phone call to say, “Where are you?” I really appreciate you, and I want to do better about reaching out when those I love pull inside their shell.

When people ask me, “Where’s home?” my answer is always dependent on how much time I have and how much I want to engage in conversation. 😆I pray you find your home center these days and that the heaviness in the world will not keep you in your turtle shell too long.

Honestly, I felt like I lost my road map. The day after Christmas, I was in TX with my amazing cousin. I went outside for an early morning walk, sighed a deep breath of relief, centered myself, and sang a song, “There’s a place, there’s a space for me….”

Finding Home

I know I am not alone in searching for home or a sense of peace from the storms these days! Sometimes, it just feels safer to stay inside my turtle shell.

Actually, I have been playing and recording all month in Branson, MO at Atlantis Recording and at StoneRidge Recording in Siloam Springs, AR. My wonderful co-writer, Terry Laird, and I have been creating an album with lots of great musicians, and our first song will be released soon!

I am grateful for the journey and all the wonderful people I have worked with. I just haven’t

talked about it because…well, I have been in my turtle shell! But it’s time to stick my neck

back out again and say, “there’s a place for me,” and I certainly hope you can claim your space too… even in the midst of whatever is happening all around you!
