I couldn’t believe what I saw on my mom’s bathroom mirror!
I couldn’t believe what I saw on my mom’s bathroom mirror!

Imagine my mom’s face when I hand her my iPad to read today’s post. Yes, Mom, this one is about you! I have been thinking about something beautiful you did for me during COVID, and I hope it might be an inspiration to others.

Remember when I called you in March of 2020?

“Hey, Mom, can I come stay with you for two weeks?

There is this virus thing going on in Italy.

I can’t fly out right now. I will just stay with you for a couple of weeks, and

Then I will be on my way to Italy”……….(Sure, Right!)

We all know I wasn’t detained for just two weeks! Moving back in with my mother

was certainly an adjustment for both of us. I hadn’t lived with my mother in decades.

Guess what, it was difficult for my mom to realize I had perhaps aged a bit. I was no longer a

child, and I didn’t need reminders to lock the back door or put the garage door down, etc.

Months after one of our shall we say, difficult discussions. I went into her bathroom, and I

couldn’t believe what I saw! She had written down the things that were important to me and

things she wanted to change. I was so touched when I saw the list. I immediately kissed the

paper, leaving a lipstick mark, and I wrote on her list - “A+. Thank you for your awareness.”

She has changed …and I have too!

Thank you, Mom, for letting me come to you for my “two-week stay.”

Thank you for all the love you have given me for a lifetime.

The note is still hanging on my mother’s mirror. My 👄 mark and the paper have faded,

but you can still read her sweet words and the “A+” I added to her note. This is just a

shortened replica, but the real deal is still there! ♥️

One of the songs on our album is about my significant life detour in 2020. Lately, I have

taken my eyes off my own detour to celebrate and appreciate the lovely journey my

mother made during that time. I look forward to sharing the tune with you soon.
