I waltzed into the studio and voila, this happened. …CUT… That is one BIG FAT HAIRY LIE!
The truth is a much richer and more beautiful story of a marvelous connection and the gift of the “teacher appearing when the student is ready.”
In late July, I sang at Unity of Roanoke Valley and Skip Brown was running the sound. Skip is a highly accomplished musician and sound engineer. He immediately saw that I was “very green” in my new musical journey!
I had no idea that I was staying right across the street from his studio! The next day I brought my gear in and my first immersion into his wealth of knowledge began. After we reconfigured everything, a spontaneous recording of “I Don’t Know Why” happened. I shared that recording with, yes, TWO people. I had much more to learn!
In October, I came back again with a new piano and more questions. Two weeks later, I came back the third time and recorded four songs. I am profoundly grateful to have learned so much from a gifted artist, patient teacher, and a truly amazing soul.
I will not begin to thank all the other beautiful souls who have helped me walk a new path. I am working very hard to keep my stories short!
